No books to report as of yet, but I'm thrilled to announced that my favorite short story, "Diapers, Demons and Dishes" has finally found a home with Literarymama, an on-line journal, and will be published on September 7th. Check it out here: literarymama.com

This story was written for a writing class I took many years ago (my youngest child wasn't even born yet, and he's fifteen now). It got me into graduate school, got me into the Clarion Science Fiction Writing workshop, but never seemed to get a "Yes, we'll publish this!" from any of the magazines I sent it to. I am so glad I can share it with more than my critique partners now.

If you have any comments on this story, I'd love to hear them. Or enter my contest.

Once Upon a Wedding Series
Zebra Ballad

This series follows the romantic escapades of the Victorian Fenster family. I hope you enjoy reading their tales as much as I enjoyed writing them. Each story is built around a central myth, legend or fairy tale, since I'm a sucker for them. Of course, I gave all the tales my own happy ending twist, too!

The Twelfth Night Bride

Kate Fenster wanted to believe that Sean McCarthy wanted to marry her for love, not money. But the exasperating man made it difficult when he climbed into her bed on Christmas morning, precipitated a hasty Twelfth Night wedding--and then disappeared home to Ireland on their wedding night.

FAIRY TALE: Bluebeard's Bride

The Impetuous Bride

Her restless nature brought her from England to America long ago, and Rosaline Fenster has survived 30 years quite happily without a husband. But wagon master Rob Lewis doesn't care how competent the sharp shooting spinster is, he thinks unmarried women are trouble on a wagon train.

MYTH: Wagon Trains West

The Next-Best Bride

Helena Fenster never thought she'd be a bride, until her twin sister backed out of her own wedding, leaving Helena to take her place. Rand Mallon just needed a wife who would leave him to his rakish ways, until he found himself married to the wrong sister.

LEGEND: Jacob and Rebecca

The Infamous Bride

Juliet Fenster knows how to win hearts, all but R.J. Hopkins' heart, that is. R.J. hides his passionate nature beneath a staid exterior--until Juliet brings out the Romeo in him one moonlit night.

MYTH: Romeo and Juliet

The Unintended Bride

Hero Fenster wants the key to unlock Arthur Watterly's heart. Arthur wants to be a hero to win the respect of the woman he loves.

Legend: King Arthur

The Star-Crossed Bride

Valentine Fenster is a man of his word. Emily Wertherly is not about to let a solemn promise destroy true love.

Fairy Tale: The Glass Mountain

The Fairy Tale Bride

Miranda Fenster believes in happy endings. Simon Watterly, the Duke of Kerstone is convinced she is wrong.

FAIRY TALE: Cinderella, of course!
