Some of My Favorite Places on the 'Net

I've been surfing the net for over a decade, and I've come across some memorable places I'm happy to share.

Some Writers I Admire:

Sylvie Kurtz Suspense to Curl Your Toes

Tess Gerritsen NYT Medical Thriller Extraordinaire

Kathy Lynn Emerson Mystery Writer to Die For

Stobie Piel Diehard Romantic

Susan Vaughan Romantic Suspense & YA

The Art and Business of Writing:

Romance Writers of America (RWA) The National Organization of Romance writers (open to anyone pursuing a career in romance writing, whether published or unpublished). Once you belong to the national organization, you can join local chapters. I belong to two: Maine Romance Writers of America (MERWA) which meets monthly in Brunswick, Maine and Chicklitwriters which is an online chapter.

Editors and Preditors is a site for those who want the scuttlebutt on agents, editors and the writing business in general.

Authors Guild a great site for those who are new to being authors.

Dyslexia and Autism Sites:

Scottish Rites Masonic Learning Centers for Children a great place to help children with dyslexia learn to decode the mysteries of reading and language.

37 Common Characteristics of Dyslexia a great starting place (and check out the rest of the site, too)

Teaching that Works My son didn't start remediation until the third grade (although his kindergarten teacher and I had discussed the "d" word). But these are things that work early and are for everyone, not just the dyslexic child!

O.A.S.I.S. offers support for parents of children with Aspergers, as well as a compendium of resources that cannot be beat.

Homeschooling Resources:

Home Education Magazine is a good beginning
