EVEN TRUER: My timing is lousy.
I should have known. When I try to put a nice holiday dinner on the table, I can chop and stir and bake all day, but once everyone is at the table something (sweet potatoes, rolls, cranberry sauce, vegetables…but never the turkey) is not ready.
So, I planned a nice series of posts discussing the drama of taking The Fairy Tale Bride from print to e-version. And then a final ta-da I’m live post. Unexpectedly and against all odds (it normally takes a while for the file to get accepted), I uploaded the book and it went live the same day. On Smashwords, anyway.
And then on Amazon the next day. It is not yet connected to the Amazon paperback, with reviews and such. I’ll try to figure that out in a few days.
I credit my successful upload to the information I received from Julie Ortolon and the folks at Backlist Ebooks. They led me to the Smashwords Guide, which made formatting the file a step-by-step process. And they gave me tips on the kinds of problems that could crop up.
As bad timing goes, this could have been much worse. Let’s hope the next four books in the series go up as smoothly (as if).
