This Year in Pictures: Pumpkins!!
When my children were small, I tried pumpkin carving every Halloween. For a few years. Like I tried making train cakes, Grover cakes. Like I tried making Harry Potter and bunny Halloween costumes. Eventually, I realized my artistic skills were limited to words (and my children grew past the three-year old’s ability to looooove that lopsided, train-ish looking cake to the six-year old’s recognition that mommy would get laughed off Cake Wars in record time).
But I still adore seeing what others do with their pumpkins every year. So when DH and I drove through Searsport and saw the Pumpkin Carving contest…I insisted we stop. Luckily we had the camera with us so I can share a few of my faves.

Enjoy!

I love these pictures! What a fun time you must have had.
Since the start of my taking the novel course from you, I’ve been meaing to check out your website. I find that you have a wonderful site and your advice on here, very sage. I, too, have taken up the challenge for the past several years to write a novel in a month with NaNoWrMo, but wasn’t able to this year. I really have missed doing so and hope to participate again next year.
Thank you for “going Kindle” with your books. I’m down loading one of your novels today.
I wish you a great month,

Hi Susan! I’m glad you enjoyed the blog. I ended up losing NaNo this year (I’m going to blog about it later), but I got 15,000 words farther into my new novel than I would have otherwise. Perhaps you were wiser, knowing that you didn’t have time this year.
